The University of Pisa

The University of Pisa is considered to be the renowned university which is located in Tuscany. It was established in 1343. This educational institution is famous for its oldest botanic garden, which was founded in 1544.

With the help of the Scuola Normale Superior and Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, the University of Pisa forms the Pisa University System.

The University of Pisa is famous for its Computer Science faculty department as it provides the best courses at the following levels: BSc, MSc, PhD.

In the 15th century, the educational system of the University of Pisa suffered form the crisis and in 1403, it was even closed; the break in operating lasted until the year of 1473.

In 1494, the university was transferred to the Prato, Pistoia, and Florence because of the war being in progress and it was reopened only in 1543. Duke Cosimo I de Medicine was that one to rule the university and since that time, the university started to develop and to earn the prestige and popularity.

Nowadays, the University of Pisa offers eleven faculties with fifty-seven departments. It also hosts research centers in the following fields of study as astrophysics, agriculture, engineering, computer sciences, veterinary medicine, and medicine.
